Holiday traditions are a great way for families to bond. In my own family, there are quite a few different things we like to do during this season, so I thought I would share just a few of my family’s favorite local events with you today.
First on our list is the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s “Garden Lights” display. My family and I have visited the gardens during this display for the past three years, and it’s truly an amazing sight to behold. Visiting the garden during this display is probably my favorite winter activity. I can’t recommend it enough. And if you don’t have a problem showing up a little later in the evening, you can enjoy significantly reduced ticket prices.

The next holiday activity I’d like to recommend is visiting Stone Mountain Park. During the winter months, the park transforms into “Snow Mountain.” Whether you’re interested in going tubing down the snow-covered hill, building snowmen in the “Snow Zone,” or maybe even meeting Jolly Old St. Nick himself, there are a ton of things to do at Stone Mountain Park during the holidays.
Last but not least on our list is Macy’s Pig Train at Lenox Square. Kids are sure to love taking a ride on this whimsical train, and parents are sure to love how inexpensive the tickets are.
